A police officer in a patrol car and a pedestrian who had been talking to the officer
were injured early Saturday morning when a 2005 Jaguar driven by a Harrison man, 51, struck the police car in the rear as it was exiting I-95 at the intersection of Mamaroneck Avenue and the I-95 off-ramp in Mamaroneck. Police say the police cruiser was totaled.
The officer had been assisting a disabled vehicle on Mamaroneck Avenue. The injured pedestrian, a Yonkers man, had been the driver of the diabled vehicle.
The police officer, Plinio Trujillo, and the Yonkers man were treated at a hospital and released.The driver of the Jaguar was released on $500 bail, according to police.
