The Center for Continuing Education in Mamaroneck will offer 140 classes this Fall, and will host a fundraiser on September 15 featuring Larchmont’s former Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner.
The Center’s Executive Director Blythe Hamer says Mr. Geithner will share his experience during the financial crisis of 2008, lessons he learned, and implications for the future. “We’re excited that our community has this opportunity to hear Tim’s insights,” said Hamer. “We’re also thankful for Tim’s support, which ensures that we can continue to offer affordable classes that draw the community together intellectually and socially.”
The event is being held on Monday, September 15 at Mamaroneck High School’s McClain Auditorium. Tickets are $50.
Fall classes begin the week of September 29. There are over 60 new offerings including live simulcasts from the 92nd Street Y, College Essay Writing, Job Search Boot Camp, and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. On the lighter side are classes like the NYC Pizza Tour, Poker for Beginners, and The Art of the Cocktail. Ever popular courses in photography, foreign languages and film will also be offered.
