What: Lecture “The Art of War: The Art of Thomas Davies, RA”
The Cottage is pleased to repeat George Bray and his fascinating lecture about British Officer Thomas Davies, who served in North America during the French & Indian War. Discover how today’s scholars use Davies’ art as a primary source to interpret 18th century life, from fashion to fortifications, hairstyles to landscapes before cities and bridges were built into them.
Also on hand, Redcoat re-enactors to demonstrate musket firings and other aspects of a soldier’s life who would have served with Davies.
