Sheldrake Environmental Center will host a half-day Women’s Wellness Retreat on Saturday, May 18. The popular retreat has been expanded this year to a 4-hour format from 1 to 5 PM, including several new components.
“The response we’ve received to our Guided Mindfulness Hikes and The Nourished Woman Retreat has prompted us to increase this type of program offering,” says Jennifer Keefe, Executive Director of Sheldrake Environmental Center. “People are increasingly seeing the value of unplugging, being outdoors, connecting with nature, and allowing for self-reflection.”
The wellness retreat will include a guided mindful outdoor experience led by Cindy Olsen, a certified Kripalu Mindful Outdoor Guide and Sheldrake Environmental Educator; nature journal writing led by Michelle Levy, a creative writing teacher and editor; sound healing, led by Jennifer Vagios, a trained Sound Healer and yoga teacher; and Vinyasa style yoga with Brittany Clarke a teacher at Yoga Heaven.
Healing foods and drinks will be provided by Jen Dorf Wellness Mind-Body Nourishment based in Mamaroneck. Gift bags of related items will be given to attendees.
During the retreat, participants will tune in to the textures, smells, and sights around them, clearing the clutter from their mind and reaping the healing benefits of nature.
The cost is $80 for Sheldrake members and $100 for non-members. Space is limited. Registration may be completed online here:

This sounds like a wonderful half day local activity. Disappointed that such a mindful event does not think to invite and/or include men.
Agree Marco.
Another way to exclude the interested.
Why ruin a good thing?
Maybe next time Sheldrake will consider a retreat for all.
