Coming Up: MHS Hosts Screening of Sundance Film

from the Mamaroneck High School Chapter of LIGHT:

Blood Brother – a story of love, commitment, and hope amongst unspeakable hardship. When a dissatisfied man named Rocky Braat left a stable life in Pittsburg, PA, to travel to India without a plan, he discovered an orphanage for HIV positive children outside of Tamil Nadu. There, he found his life purpose. Unlike others who just passed through the orphanage, Rocky stayed put and dedicated himself to improving the health and well-being of the kids who live there.

Mamaroneck High School is hosting a screening of the Sundance Film Festival award-winning Blood Brother documentary to benefit Rocky and the children. Arranged by the MHS chapter of LIGHT,  a 501c3 non profit organization committed to helping Rocky and the orphanage, the screening will take place on Wednesday, February 5th at 7 pm in the PACE auditorium of Mamaroneck High School.

LIGHT is directed and managed solely by volunteers who give their time, energy, and money out of concern for the kids.  The services that LIGHT provides are offered free of charge, regardless of religious beliefs, gender, socio-economic status, etc. LIGHT is not funded, governed, or advised by another NGO, non-profit, or religious organization. All funds collected are used to help people, specifically orphaned children, living with HIV/AIDS. Monies donated to LIGHT and raised through the film go directly to the needs of these kids and potential needs that arise for villagers in life/death situations.

Please show support for those who really need it. All proceeds from the screening will go directly to LIGHT. Do not miss the opportunity to see an award winning Sundance film for an entry fee of simply 5 dollars – your attendance could save a life.
