The opening day of the 2015 Mamaroneck Winter Farmers’ Market, now in its seventh season, will be on Saturday, January 3rd. It will return to its indoor home at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 168 W. Boston Post Road, and run every Saturday through May 2nd, from 9 am – 1 pm.

According to Ossining-based Down to Earth Markets, which curates and manages some twenty farmers markets in the metro New York area, this year’s winter  market brings together both area farmers and food makers who source the foods “as locally as possible.”Carabeeta_Logo_2

Shoppers can find  a list of the current vendors here. They provide everything from prepared foods to go, to fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables, fresh seafood, pasture-raised meats, poultry, and eggs, pickles, yogurt, pies, breads and baked goods (both regular and gluten-free).

The vendors include both smaller farms with organic seasonal crops, like Gaia’s Breath Farm, and commercial food businesses, such as Orwashers Bakery. But every week the vendors will rotate and the list will grow.

Plus the market will showcase local musicians including Armelle for Kids, Deuces Child, and The Shovel Ready String Band.
