Coming Up: Make Your House a Home

housefrom the JLWOS:

House to Home, a fundraiser hosted by the Junior League of Westchester on the Sound, will be held on Thursday, May 16 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at Larchmont Temple (75 Larchmont Ave.).  The event will open at 6:30 with shopping from area home décor vendors and be followed at 7:30 by a panel presentation with some of Sound Shore’s best home experts.

Come learn from Michael Murphy of Murphy Brothers Contracting, Rick Yestadt of Gordon + Yestadt Architects, Marie Graham of The Refreshed Home, and Catherine Wachs of The Lazy Gardener.  They will unveil the secrets of giving your home a polished finish while keeping it cozy and functional.

Attendees are invited to submit photographs of problem spaces in their homes and yards or questions they have to housetohomejlwos@gmail.com. Photos must be submitted for consideration as soon as possible.

Our panelists will select a number of these photographs and use them to guide their presentation. Find out the tricks needed to create a cozy family room, an elegant dining room, an inviting patio that feels like an extension of your home…all on a modest budget.  Thinking bigger?  Our architect and contractor will answer your questions regarding home renovations and additions.  Our panel presentation will be followed by more shopping time and a reception with the presenters.

Tickets are available at www.jlwos.org and cost $35 in advance or $40 at the door.  This event is an amazing opportunity to have a good time and learn valuable information while supporting local Sound Shore service providers and home goods merchants as well as the charitable work of the Junior League of Westchester on the Sound.  Light refreshments will be served. All proceeds from this event will go to benefit the Junior League of Westchester on the Sound and our community projects.
