The first of four debates between Catherine Parker (D) and John Verni (R) will take place this Wednesday evening, October 9th at 7:30 pm in the courtroom of the Mamaroneck Town Center.
Catherine and John are the two candidates seeking to represent the Sound Shore communities on the County Board of Legislators, succeeding Judy Myers, who is retiring.
The Board of Legislators shapes County policies on child care for low-income families, health care, jobs, environmental preservation, flood mitigation, gun violence, rebuilding infrastructure, fiscal responsibility, and more. The candidates will discuss their qualifications to deal with such issues and answer questions submitted by members of the community.
Doors open at 7 pm. Come early to submit your questions.
This event has been organized by the League of Women Voters of Larchmont-Mamaroneck in collaboration with the League of Women Voters of Rye, Rye Brook and Port Chester.
Following the Parker-Verni dialogue, the focus of the evening will become even more local, turning to the candidates for office in the Village of Mamaroneck:
Candidates for Mayor of the Village of Mamaroneck: Clark Neuringer (D) & Norman Rosenblum (R,C,I); and
Candidates for Trustees in the Village of Mamaroneck: Louis Santoro (R,C,I) & Kerry Stein (D)
And, finally, the following candidates for Town of Mamaroneck positions, all running uncontested, will present statements: Nancy Seligson, Town Supervisor (D), Jaine Elkind Eney (D), and Ernie Odierna (D), Town Board.
