Coming Up: Historical Fire Irish Night, Larchmont – March 3

Fleet of the Historical Fire Company

from Larchmont Historical Society–   The Larchmont “Historical Fire” will host its traditional Irish Night celebration at the American Legion Hall in Flint Park, Larchmont, Saturday March 3 beginning at 7:00 pm,

Irish Night, hosted for almost a century by Larchmont Fire Department’s Engine Company, celebrates the heritage of many of the firefighters with a traditional St. Patrick’s Day’s feast of corned beef and cabbage rounded out by appetizers, soda bread, beverages and dessert.

In the wake of two serious apartment fires in Mamaroneck and Larchmont, this year’s Irish Night is dedicated to fire prevention through the years. On display will be vintage posters along with fire prevention and suppression devices from the Historical Fire Company collection.

Entertainment will include Irish, folk and dance music by Sue and Tim Downley and a performance by an award winning troupe of step dancers.  There will be raffles and a sampling of craft beers brewed to appeal to firefighters.

Also making an appearance will be members of the Historical Fire Company in their parade uniforms and illuminated helmets along with the 1891 Fire Extinguisher Cart which they pull in parades.

The party is open to all: tickets are $50, with discounts for members of the Larchmont Historical Society, veterans and fire companies. Purchase tickets by credit card or PayPal at or email to RSVP and pay at the door by check.
