Forum on Mandate Relief- Thursday, November 7th, 7:30 pm, HMX Auditorium
Learn about the impact of unfunded mandates on schools and local government and possible solutions. Panel will include Former Town of Mamaroneck Supervisor Valerie O’Keeffe, NYS Senator George Latimer, NYS Assemblyman Steve Otis, Westchester Putnam School Boards Association Executive Director Lisa Davis and NYS League of Women Voters Legislative Director Barbara Bartoletti. Learn how unfunded mandates are impacting your property taxes and how you can make a difference!

Sponsored by the MHS Social Studies Department. Speakers include Elizabeth Clain, MHS Principal, and members of the MHS faculty. All community members welcome.

Food Pantry Needs Volunteers for Food Drive
Give back for as little as 90 minutes and make a difference! The Larchmont Mamaroneck Food Pantry is looking for volunteers of all ages to support its annual holiday food drive November 23 and 24 at local grocery stores. Shifts are 90 minutes. Volunteers are also needed on November 25 from 9-noon to unload and sort the food collected. To volunteer, email volunteer@LMFoodPantry.org<mailto:volunteer@LMFoodPAntry.org.

From the Town of Mamaroneck Rec Department
Register for our Friday Night Teen Trip. On Friday, November 15th, we will be taking a trip to Bounce Trampoline Center and TGI Friday’s. This program is designed for 6-8th graders. We will depart from the VFW at 4:00 pm and return approximately 8:30 pm. Reserve your spot now with a friend. Registration is required at least 1 week prior to the event. Resident $70, space is limited.

Travel Basketball 8th Grade Boys Try-Out Announcement
The Tri-County Basketball League http://www.tcbl.org has been serving Larchmont/Mamaroneck/Rye Neck for over five years. Teams from Mamaroneck will be playing against teams from other communities in Westchester and neighboring counties. We are holding TRY-OUTS on November 7th (6:00-7:00) and 23rd (5:30-6:30) for those who wish to play highly competitive, “travel” basketball this season. Parents of interested children must contact a coach and sign up prior to the tryout dates: Seth Heaton (seth.heaton@db.com).

LMBA Basketball Registration is now OPEN!! 
The Larchmont Mamaroneck Basketball Association is Larchmont and Mamaroneck’s town basketball league, offering clinics/games for grades 1-3 and league play for grades 4-12. All students in Gr 1- 12 residing, or going to school, in the Mamaroneck and Rye Neck School Districts are eligible. Register online or for more info, visit  http://www.LMBAbasketball.com . Cost for Gr 1-3 (clinics/games) is $100, for Gr 4-8 (league play) $155, and for High School $135. Register today to avoid late fees — and space is limited!! Scholarships are available.

Larchmont Library Events

Teen Book Club, Thursday, November 14th, 6:30 pm. Meet int he Michael P. Coords Activity Room. The club will read and discuss Reboot by Amy Tonitera. Books will be available in the library starting four weeks prior to the club meeting. No registration required.

Teen Creative Movie Theatre, Saturday, November 23rd, 3:00 pm. Grades 8 and up. Meet in the Village Center. High school film student, Gabrielle Ciacomo, showcases several of her films in this program aimed at inspiring young filmakers.

Teen Gaming Night, Monday, November 25th, 6:00 pm. Meet in the Michael P. Coords Activity Room. Enjoy a snack while playing games for xbox, Kinect, and Wii. Lots of new games. No registration required.

Teen Minutes-to-Win-It, Friday, November 29th, 3:30 pm. Grades 5-8. Meet in the Michael P. Coords Activity Room. Join in this series of whacky games and compete to win prizes. Registration begins November 1st.
