Have you noticed the new cashless toll being constructed at exit 17 on I-95, and at the Chatsworth Avenue exit?
New Rochelle’s transition will take place overnight between Wednesday, Dec. 19 and Thursday, Dec. 20, weather permitting, according to the Thruway Authority.
Sensors overhead will read a car’s EZPass. For those without an EZPass, a camera will photograph the license plate and the car’s owner will receive a bill.
The Thruway Authority has announced a full conversion to cashless tolling by the end of 2020.
In a press release, Authority said the conversion is expected to save commuters around 200 minutes a year.

We didn’t name it that. It is referred to as such by the New York State Thruway Authority. Shortened as “New Rochelle Toll. “
Exit 17 is the exit to Larchmont/Town of Mamoroneck, and thus not the New Rochelle Exit.
