Capitol Theatre Offers Music Teachers Rock and Roll Scholarship

Westchester  teachers have a chance to visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame + Museum in Cleveland this summer for an intensive two-day curriculum training experience, with their tuition and travel costs paid for by The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester.

Teachers attending the program will receive hands-on training on how to effectively connect popular music to their own classroom curricula. The training puts a special emphasis on the interplay between music and activism. It will be held in Cleveland, Ohio August 10-11, 2017, and the deadline to apply is June 1st.

The theater, working with the non-profit organization HeadCount, has established a charitable fund supported by selling an exclusive Presidential Booth (four seats directly overlooking the stage) for most events. The Capitol Community Fund has already paid for 35+ area teachers to attend the program at the Rock Hall over the last four years. The fund also supports various local charities as well as charities selected by artists performing at The Cap.

Presidential Booths can be purchased by calling Ticketfly at (877) 987-6487, ordering online at www.thecapitoltheatre.com, or visiting The Capitol Theatre Box Office.
