New Rochelle Police Captain Cosmo Costa says there is no indication the suspect and victim knew each other or exchanged words before the assault.
The victim’s name was not released but is described as an Hispanic resident of New Rochelle. The suspect is black and her last know address was a homeless shelter in the city. No motive has been offered.
