Have you ever been to one of those children’s art studios, maybe at a kid’s birthday party, watched the pottery wheel spin or someone slathering paint on a canvas, and thought…”I want to do that!”
Wouldn’t it be great to have an adult place to play? You do now. If you are at all creative, or know someone that is, and have not yet experienced MADE (my art + design experience), it’s time you do.
“We do get lots of kids, but we cater to adults,” says Jamie Weisinger, the artist who transformed the old bank building near the corner of Boston Post Road and Mamaroneck Avenue, into a bright, welcoming, art studio for grown-ups, about a year and a half ago. There are also plenty of workshops for kids.
Drop in and make a mosaic, throw a pot, paint a canvas, do some mixed media, or paint up a pre-made pottery shape for the kiln. And check their calendar for family workshops, wine and design adult nights out and much more.
No reservation is required (for groups under 6). Just walk in and make art. Or sign up for a special event.
Jamie says it was always her dream to create an art studio. “It’s so fun,” she says. “I get to bring art into the community and make art with them.”
So make a play date and go!
