Core Barre class at Thrive
Core Barre class at Thrive

Here’s the pitch: “Core Barre is a fun, all in one, addictive, fitness routine that burns fat, sculpts muscle and gives your butt an added boost in just one hour!”

Adapted from principles of yoga, Pilates and the Lotte Berk Method, Core Barre classes at Thrive run throughout the day in a cozy, light-filled studio on the grounds of a Christ Church at Pelhamdale Ave. and Shore Road.  Most of these classes are taught by Danielle Aviezer, who has taught at the Debbie Frank Exercise Studio in Larchmont, Exhale in Manhattan and Bod in Greenwich. The closing of Debbie Frank has many students looking for an alternative and this is a great one.

“We take only 12 students at a time,” Danielle says, “and give lots of individualized attention.” Your first class is free.

But this little studio offers something more, individual and group health and wellness coaching. Nutitionist Carol Hinchcliffe, a Master Intuitive Coach. “We work on your nutrition to change your weight and or energy level,” she says,”then we start thinking more holistically and examine all areas of your life. Are you eating to fill a void, for example?”

Carol offers individual and group sessions and a free 45 minute consult.

I’ve tried them all– Thrive is the best! The classes are small so you get personal attention and the teachers are excellent. They really create an encouraging and energetic environment, and really challenge you. It’s a little bit of a farther drive for me but it’s always worth it!

I’ve tried many barre studios in the area and have never found better teachers than those at Thrive Studio. The energy at the studio is warm and inviting, every teacher makes me feel so comfortable, taken care of, challenged and encouraged. Highly recommend!

FYI – there is a barre method class closer to home! Be sure to try a class at Energie Barre located in A Dabce Studio at 2094 Boston Post Rosd in Larchmont. The instructors, who also were trained by Debbie, are great. Check it out at energiebarre@blogspot.com
