The New York Times has been busy around here.
Monday’s story about the Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht Club’s long fight with Village residents to build condominiums on the site is a familiar one to many:
“We’ve seen it happen in Greenwich, we’ve seen it happen in Larchmont, we’ve seen it happen up and down the sound,” said Keith Waitt, who lives across Otter Creek from the club and has expansive views of the sound that could be blocked. “Once the development starts, it can be hard to stop it, and before you know it, the public waterfront is gone.”
And Sunday’s profile of Bradley’s in Larchmont reminds us that we really all can get along.
