Then, head to the roof to use some real life telescopes to check out the moon, Saturn, Mars and Venus. www.nred.org   Pick up some thrifty ways to shop for groceries and make healthy choices with the League of Women voters of Larchmont and Mamaroneck’s Walk to the Supermarket on Saturday. There will be an assortment of adult and children’s books, CDs, DVDs, video and audio cassettes, paperbacks, cookbooks and gift books available for purchase. www.nrpl.org   The Elmsford Animal Shelter is offering Professional Pet Portraits this Saturday from 10 a.m. -4 p.m. A cash donation of $25 for the shelter or a 35+ pound bag of dog or cat food will be necessary to sit for a 10-minute session. Each pet will receive a 5×7 gift print.

And have a safe and happy 4th.               MAMARONECK   The Village of Mamaroneck’s Firemen’s Carnival is running every evening (until 11 or 12 at night) through Monday at Harbor Island Park. Be sure to stop by and enjoy the tons of rides, food vendors, games and more! Armbands are $25 a piece and give you access to all rides and games every day but Sunday.

There will be a live auction and original artwork for purchase for this show running through Saturday.
