At the Mamaroneck Artists Guild:

SMALL WORKS 2011 (left)

The walls and pedestals of the Mamaroneck Artists Guild are filled with diminutive gems of art for the annual “Small Works “ show.  Begun in 2004, it is the only exhibition at the gallery that is open to both non-members as well as members.

This year Camilla Cook who is a curator and artists consultant juried the entrees.  Last summer, she curated an exhibition at the Time Warner Center in New York City.  She writes “the quality and diversity of artwork submitted to this exhibition was staggering and allowed me to display a broad range of artistic voices at work today.”

Some of those voices include abstract, mixed media pieces,  encaustics,  photography, sculptures of glass and beads as well of as paintings of both traditional and abstract subjects.  No piece is larger than 15 inches.

The show runs through May 28th at 126 Larchmont Avenue.  The gallery is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from noon until 5 pm. There is an official reception on Saturday, May 21st from 4 to 6 pm.
