Anthony F. Mennillo, a lifelong resident of Mt. Vernon died at home with his wife at his side on July 28, 2011. He was 75.
Anthony was born on May 4, 1936 in Mt. Vernon to the late Bob and Teresa Mancuso Mennillo. He was the Commissioner of Civil Service in the City of New Rochelle for over 25 years. He graduated Stepinac High School and Sienna College. He had a love of horses and was a well known handicapper. He was an avid Yankees Fan. He was an Usher at Holy Family Church for over 30 years and was known as the “Lolly Pop Man” by generations of children.
He is survived by his wife Mary K. Fanelli whom he married in 2003; his brother Robert Mennillo; his two granddaughters and his former wife Elsie Fisher Willinger. He was predeceased by his three sons: Christopher, Glenn and Gregory. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visiting will be Saturday and Sunday 2-4 & 7-9pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel Inc. Shea Pl, New Rochelle. A funeral Mass is scheduled for Monday 10:30am at Holy Family Church, New Rochelle.
