MARIO J. PALMA, passed away January 11, 2011 at age 88.
Born October 27, 1922 in Frosinone, Italy to Umberto and Maria (Morelli) Palma, Mario served in the US Navy during WWII as an Aviation Mechanic. He worked as a machinist for Eastern Metals, which then became General Electric, and then for 27 years he worked for the New Rochelle Post Office as a letter carrier.
On September 12, 1954 he married Mary Ann Richards in St. Gabriel’s Church in New Rochelle. In addition to his beloved wife, Mario is survived by his cherished children Jim (Terri) Palma, Jay (Patty) Palma, adoring grandchildren James, Anthony, Jackie, Becca, and loving siblings Frank (Gertie) Palma and Angie (Joe) Meikle. He is predeceased by a son, Ronald (in 1962) and brothers Gino, Raymond, and Armond. Visitation Friday 4-8pm at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME, 767 E. Boston Post Rd, Mamaroneck. 914-698-5968. Funeral Service Saturday 10:30am at the funeral home, followed by interment at Beechwoods Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Schaeffer Extended Care in New Rochelle.
