Three New Rochelle High School students are charged with the stabbing death of another student, 16-year-old Valeree Schwab,  outside a Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant at 646 North Avenue on January 10. They are Z’inah Brown, 17, who authorities identified almost immediately after the alleged crime, and Dominique Slack, 17 and Carl Booker, 17.

The Westchester DA’s office says Brown has been indicted on murder, manslaughter , and criminal possession of a weapon. All three face charges of gang assault, stalking in the first degree and stalking in the third degree.

On Jan. 10, 2018, prosecutors allege, Brown, Booker and Slack,  confronted and assaulted Schwab on North Avenue. Schwab , authorities say, dropped her house keys and one of the teens picked them up. Schwab then followed the group to Dunkin’ Donutsto try to get back her keys and was allegedly stabbed by Brown. She died later that day at Jacobi Hospital.

Slack and Booker were arraigned Wednesday in county court. Slack remains in county jail without bail. Booker has been released on $25,000 bail. Both are scheduled to return to court April 17.  Brown’s arraignment is pending.
